Salesforce’s potential in streamlining an accounting communication stream between a client and their Oracle-based accountant
Abstract:
Salesforce and Oracle are the two goliaths in their respective arenas, Customer Relations Management and Enterprise Resource planning. In this Webinar, Jordan Spigner will discuss the pitfalls of doing business financials management via email and how a large accounting firm services its customers’ accounting needs using Salesforce and Oracle seamlessly to deliver expeditious, accurate results with a constant communication stream. This solution not only offers trackable metrics, it will be a secure database of sensitive client information that ultimately will leave email as a financial management business tool firmly in the past.
Salesforce and Oracle can streamline the entire accounting management process with the creation of a “Case” using the Salesforce Platform and The Salesforce Community Portal.
A case is a customer’s or accountant’s question, feedback, or issue. Maintenance agents can review cases to see how they can deliver services that are applicable to the business processes. Accountants can use cases to see how they affect the Requisitions and Purchase Orders management process. This process flow management ensures that no request is untouched and delivered upon.
This, in its simplest form, is a three-step process:
- Case Creation: An external user will create and submit a case outside the Oracle Users organization. At this stage the customer user would deliver and articulate all accounting information that is required for the accounting.
- Case Retrieval: The internal user (accountant) will retrieve the case from the Salesforce platform. At this stage they will have the ability to confirm or deny the validity of the case.
- Oracle Entry: Oracle user will retrieve data from Salesforce case and ensure entry into Oracle.
Assuming the Salesforce platform is built to match the data entry requirements of Oracle, the workflow management can be entirely automated and routed based on the approval process of Salesforce and integration. Double data entry and long, arduous email chains masquerading as a document repository will no longer be things of the past. The ultimate goal here is to free up customer/accountant time to focus on their real job: servicing their customers. An integration of Oracle and Salesforce transforms a process that used to take hours into minutes.
