Salesforce to EBS/PS Integration – Turning an Opportunity into a Work Order
By combining the power of Oracle with the features that Salesforces offers for users, the potential of automating your organization’s critical processes grows. Creating an “Opportunity to Order” automated workflow is just one example of the bi-directional integration capabilities of the applications. Using Oracle integration cloud, you can perform synchronization between the systems to trigger specific operations.
In Salesforce, an opportunity is a sale or potential deal. There are out of the box key stages that represent milestones of a general Sales process. These include:
- Prospecting
- Qualification
- Needs Analysis
- Value Proposition
- Id. Decision Makers
- Perception Analysis
- Proposal/Price Quote
- Negotiation/Review
- Closed Won
- Closed Lost
Users can also create custom stages if they wanted to expand the native capabilities of salesforce opportunities. Once the opportunity has progressed and the status/stage is updated to Closed Won and is saved, the integration will automatically trigger the creation of a new work order in Oracle. The integration will take the opportunity, attached product, and other needed information from salesforce, and send it to Oracle.
In Oracle, a work order will be created based off the information provided during the Salesforce opportunity cycle. Your sales reps will be able to immediately see this order and if the customer involved in the opportunity is new, a customer account can also be created. If there are any errors reported in Oracle, the opportunity will be reopened in Salesforce.
Upon a successful work order creation in Oracle, the created work order ID will be immediately be sent back to Salesforce and attached to the original opportunity. The process is so swift, that right after the sales rep saves the opportunity, the user can refresh the opportunity in Salesforce and see their associated Oracle work order ID.
This convenient integration ensures sensitive information is protected and maximizes efficiency for employees. With increased productivity inside your organization comes a better service experience for your customers.
